McClain Sanitation Systems "Ozone on Demand"
McClain Ozone pioneered the use of ozone as a sanitizer; introduced the first mobile ozone sanitation systems; developed the concept of “ozone-on-demand”; and continues to advance ozone technology and sanitation into new applications and industries (Client List available on request).
McClain sanitation systems:
McClain Ozone’s Mobile Sanitation Systems set the standard for compact, portable, “ozone-on-demand” sanitation systems. Since they were pioneered by McClain, they have become the world’s most popular mobile ozone sanitation systems. They are currently being utilized in a broad array of sanitation applications (i.e. food, beverage, agriculture, packaging, etc.).
Baby Bugbuster
VIEW SPECIFICATIONS
The Baby Bugbuster is McClain’s smallest portable “ozone-on-demand” sanitation system. It was introduced to meet the needs of small food and beverage operations. The Baby Bugbuster provides the same quality construction, exceptional reliability, application flexibility and upgradability as McClain’s larger systems at a price which makes ozone’s superior sanitation capabilities accessible to small operations.
Baby Bugbuster Upgradability
McClain Ozone’s philosophy is “Your ozone system should grow with you, your business and your applications.” From its inception fifteen years ago, McClain Ozone has incorporated the concept of upgradability into all of its mobile sanitation system designs. This manufacturing concept provides for retrofitting increased capacity, current technology and newly available options onto all McClain’s mobile sanitation systems (old and new).
The Baby Bugbuster is designed so that it can be economically upgraded (utilizing its components) to the Destroyer System. This upgradability extends the usefulness of the Baby Bugbuster by allowing it to grow with the client’s needs and be expanded for new applications cost effectively.
Baby Bugbuster Options
The Baby Bugbuster is available with the following options.
Ozone and Oxygen Gas Option - This option allows the user to pull direct ozone or medical grade oxygen gas (without water) from the sanitation system. Ozone gas is effective in controlling air born spoilage organisms, cellar mold, fruit flies and barrel storage (vs. SO2). Oxygen gas can be utilized wherever medical grade oxygen is needed including micro-oxidation.
Destroyer Series
The Destroyer Mobile Sanitation Series sets the standard for compact mobile “ozone-on-demand” sanitation systems. Since it was introduced by McClain, the Destroyer Series has become the world’s most popular sanitation system for small to medium sized food and beverage applications (i.e. wineries, breweries, food processors, agriculture, etc.). The Destroyer Series provides the same quality construction, exceptional reliability, application flexibility and upgradability as McClain’s larger systems with a small footprint and an attractive price point.

Ozone Sanitation Equipment Selection
We have provided this document to aid individuals in the selection of ozone sanitation equipment. The following information on ozone system selection and McClain Ozone systems is provided for your information and review. We are looking forward to working with you on your sanitation challenges.
If you are looking at ozone sanitation systems there are several things to consider:
Manufacturer's Presence in the Industry
McClain Ozone Inc. pioneered the use of ozone as a sanitizer and is the industry leader in the production of mobile and dedicated ozone sanitation systems (Client List available on request). We exceed all industry and safety standards and are EPA Registered, NSF Registered, and OSHA Compliant.
Measurable Dissolved Ozone Concentration in the Water
The concentration of ozone in the process water is critical to successful sanitation. The classic sanitation formula is illustrated below.
Concentration (ppm) x Time (minutes) = Ct Value
As can be seen in the Ct formula, the higher the concentration of ozone in the water the lower the time required to do the job. Reducing job time has the cost saving and environmental benefits of reducing labor and saving process water. McClain’s concentration, degassing and destruct system provides our sanitation systems with the industry’s highest concentration of ozone in the water.
Equipment Safety and Employee Training and Certification
McClain sanitation systems are EPA Registered, NSF Registered and OSHA Compliant. We believe that the safe and effective use of ozone is dependent on employee knowledge and competence. Therefore, all sales include on-site or media training and Certification of your employees on standard operating procedures and the safe use of ozone in the workplace.
Equipment Reliability and Warranties
McClain sanitation systems provide proven reliability. Our systems are used by hundreds of clients worldwide and we are happy to furnish client references. In addition, McClain technology and reliability is backed by the best warranty in the industry.
System Size and Mobility, Application Flexibility, Ease of Operation, and Water Flow Capacity
McClain sanitation systems have been designed with the input of sanitation workers worldwide. These designs emphasize small size, mobility, application flexibility, and ease of operation. Water flow capacity is an important consideration in ozone applications (i.e. a container washer may require 8 gpm while a tank washer may require 25 gpm. McClain systems allow for a range of flows to allow the client application flexibility using the same system.
“Ozone-on-Demand"
McClain Ozone developed the concept of “Ozone-on-Demand” and it is incorporated into all of our sanitation systems. “Ozone-on-Demand” is simply the direct delivery of ozonated water from the sanitation system to the point of use. These systems provide on demand ozonation, degassing and delivery of ozonated water to the point of use at variable flow rates.
Although this seems a simple concept, historically ozone systems utilized recirculation tanks to degas and store ozonated water and the water was then taken from the tank to the point of use. This type of system required continually running ozone and recirculation systems, large storage tanks, auxiliary pumps, hard piping installations, constant flow rates and did not lend themselves to mobile point-of –use applications.
Available Options and Upgrade Ability
McClain offers numerous options some of which are only available on our systems. In addition, all systems are upgradeable both for ozone and options. Options offered include the following:
Ozone Output Upgrade – All McClain Sanitation Systems allow for increased ozone output upgrades. This allows the system to grow with your facility and applications over time.
Container (Barrel) Gas Option – Studies indicate that ozonated water in combination with ozone gas is highly effective in the sanitation of wooden containers including tanks, vats and barrels. McClain’s custom and patented gas strip and destruct systems are designed to effectively remove excess ozone gas preventing off gassing in the workplace. While this removal is desirable in most applications (when sanitizing stainless/poly tanks, floors, walls, press equipment, etc.) it reduces the sanitation effectiveness in wooden containers. The McClain Container Gas Option allows the client to take the gas strip and destruct system off line when doing wooden containers thus allowing the extra ozone gas to go into the container which improves sanitation effectiveness.
Ozone and Oxygen Gas Option – This option allows the client pull direct ozone or medical grade oxygen gas (without water) from the sanitation system. Ozone gas is effective in mold, airborne microbe control, wooden container (barrels) storage (vs. SO2) and fruit fly control. Oxygen gas can be used to perform product micro-oxidation (i.e. micro-oxidation of wines) or any place where high percentage oxygen is required.
Cart Mounted Ozone Safety Monitoring and Control System – This safety option automatically monitors the ozone system for leaks. If a leak is detected the system is shut down and the operator is visually notified.
Technical Support and Service
McClain offers factory and Distributor technical support, parts and service worldwide. Our systems are modular for ease of service and require no specialized tools. Service training for maintenance personnel is available for a fee.
